Heritage
My work with English heritage mainly involved print communications, which English Heritage produce a lot of, however the project featured here users Meta's Spark AR software to create Instagram and Facebook filters.
Summer Quest
The Brief
Create 6 AR filters to be used in the 2024 Summer Quest. These will be part of a treasure hunt style game, where children can search for clues and find the filters. They will be printed as QR codes that the audience can scan.
The Solution
Using purchased 3D assets, which I worked in Blender to prepare for import into Spark AR (This included texture work, baking lighting, and creating animations) I used face tracking to position the props so they sit on the heads of the user. This is a fairly simple process once the assets were prepared, so I had time to add some interaction to each. Spark AR allows you to trigger events based on certain facial movements (Make an Angry face, or blink, for example), this allowed me to create thematic interactions for each, which further pushes the element of play in each design.
