Avanti West Coast
Most of my work on Avanti West Coast has been email communications. These include monthly newsletter style, one-off and trigger emails.
Avanti West Coast have a strong brand identity, including a varied colour palette and a recognisable illustration style. Using the brand elements to their fullest and pushing what we can do with them was key to creating engaging emails that performed well.
Avanti Inside Track
September '24
The Brief
The monthly Inside Track emails are a newsletter style communication, highlighting events, deals and competitions from around the Avanti West Coast network. The key message in these emails is represented in the header as an animated GIF.
The key message for the september edition was a competition to win tickets to an F1 exhibition
in London. Other events featured include the BFI film festival and a live show inspired by a childrens book.
The Solution
The bulk of the creative and design thinking would need to be focused on the header animation. I needed a fun and engaging concept spark interest while referencing events featured in the email.
The concept I landed on pits an Avanti train against an F1 car, in a drag race at a train platform. This unlikely race links the train company and F1 event in a really fun way, which is then enhanced with smaller details to create an animation engages recipients.
